PROJECT CONCEPT
City Fill
The project concept is to use empty areas in cities by creating a code that can adapt to the buildings around. With a few parameters it can create a surface that can be a base for future planning in these areas.
This surface can adapted to different cities and neighborhoods just by placing a point in the empty area.
This architectural tool can allow us to plan and create useful city infills that adapt to their surroundings.
CITY ANALYSIS
Petach Tikva
For my project I chose the city of Petah Tikva. Petah Tikva was originally founded as the first planned Hebrew city as early as the 1930s. The urban design of the city was influenced by the image of the Eastern European towns from which the inhabitants of the city came. Over the years the city center weakened greatly as the wealthier residents left for the new developing neighborhoods outside the city limits. Despite its historic importance, the city center is very neglected and full of crumbling buildings that attract a socio-economically disadvantaged population.
PLANNING PROCESS
Concept
The project is located in downtown Petah Tikva. This area is recognized as the core of the city and symbolizes the beginning of urban Hebrew settlement in the country. The project deals with the connection between points of interest in the neighborhood and the creation of an urban function. In the planned space there are urban points of interest such as a market, the historic square and the first commercial street in the city. The project translates these points of interest into geometric shapes and urban spaces. Combining these points of interests allows for a new and attractive entertainment space in the area. The goal of the project is to create a planned space that connects these functions and provides a interesting and visually stimulating environment.

The shape finding process included the input of Instagram followers.
The process was displayed via Instagram stories that provided three possible design options and followers selected them by taking polls.
